begins

I walk back from Islington, late morning, early and desolate
blame it on excess and vicarious substance substitution
and ever-present sublimation, a hostage nocturnal
Now streets, alleys, gardens, a wonder, luminous uncertain
Blind to humble transparency, unassuming it was, unannounced,
it begins
