I hold this track in very high regard. An attempt to re-ignite Tuxedomoon’s classic line-up in the early 1990s, it became the evidence of a creative and/or contextual cul-de-sac that would dictate the band’s dissolution for nearly a decade – and in that sense, the piece is brutally honest in the felt impossibility of its ingredients to gain momentum.
After a tortuous jam throughout what sound like embers of past glories, the piece ends with a segment that can only be regarded as a melancholic requiem, a subdued closure to an epic journey.
And at the time it did seem like the end. Little did we know.
